All things are fair in love and war and usually are in politics, especially in a big election year. What has been happening lately is shear stupidity. We have had to endure 8 years of an ignorant and backwards president. Those of us in the GLBT community have had to endure 8 years of legal gay bashing, physically, mentally, and politically. But what has happened with this election campaign is the worst of all.
CNN reports that rally goers at the McCain/Palin rallies are angry. I don't blame them, I'm pretty pissed off myself about the economy, the longest running election campaign of all time, and many more things. But to actually call Barrack Obama an Arab? Or how about bashing some media types. A reporter in Clearwater, Florida was the victim of a racial slur?
Is this the guy you want to be president, Republicans? The type that attracts racists and violent people? I thought Republicans were suppose to be heavy duty religious types? Oh, yeah, hypocrisy. See earlier blog entry...
I guarantee you that people are not calling McCain a terrorist at Obama rallies. Nor are they looking for the KKK or neo Nazi to hunt him down. Are these real, true Republicans?? I hope not. My suggestion is, to you well meaning Republicans out there, is that you rein in those oddballs or the election results are going to be worse than you'll ever imagine.
